Privacy Policy — Tabscope

Last updated: March 8, 2026

Overview

Tabscope is a Safari extension for macOS that helps you manage your browser tabs. Your privacy is important — Tabscope is designed to work entirely on your device with no external data collection.

Data Collection

Tabscope does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data.

Data Stored on Your Device

Tabscope uses Safari's local extension storage (browser.storage.local) to save two small pieces of data:

Both of these are stored exclusively on your Mac using Safari's built-in extension storage API. You can clear this data at any time by removing the extension from Safari.

Permissions

PermissionPurpose
tabsRequired to list all open tabs, switch between them, close tabs, and move tabs between windows.
storageRequired to save your sort preference and recently closed tab history locally on your device.

These permissions are the minimum necessary for the extension to function. Tabscope cannot access the content of any web page.

Children's Privacy

Tabscope does not collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted to this page. Since Tabscope collects no data, material changes are unlikely.
